Position Description

The Department of Communication, Media, and Film invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach the following course during the 2017 Spring Session:

The dates for the Spring session are May 15 to June 27, 2017 (June 28-30 Spring session final examinations). 

  • COMS 401 - Special Topics in Communications Studies (Countercultural Communication)
    L03, Mon/Wed, 12:00-14:45

Note: This course offering is tentative, pending funding and sufficient student enrolment.

To apply to any of the above teaching opportunities, please submit a letter of application to the email account cchire@ucalgary.ca indicating which course(s) and session(s) you are interested in teaching. Please indicate if you are willing to teach more than one course in each session.

In support of your application, please provide the following:

  • Current, up-to-date CV (if our Department does not already have one on file)
  • Three references (required if you have not taught for our Department before)
  • Description of your qualifications in support of each course(s) you are interested in teaching
  • Any restrictions (e.g., scheduling day or time constraints) that would need to be taken into consideration

Doctoral students who will have passed their candidacy exams by the time the course begins are eligible to apply.

The amount of remuneration is calculated according to the Collective Agreement, Schedule B. Please see the Faculty Association’s website for further information regarding conditions of employment and remuneration.
